Family Portraits – The Harris Family

Coming from far and away, Jim and Janice knew that while their kids and grandkids were all gathered back in town, they wanted to take the time to capture a family portrait. Riverfront park provided the perfect setting with lots of space for everyone, and the family’s shades of blue worked so well with the lake and bright blue sky behind.

Jim and Janice’s six  kids have divided themselves into two groups since childhood, and the “bigs and littles” portraits is one of our favorites from this session. With the three oldest and three youngest on either side of their mom and dad, this really brings the core group back to who they were at the beginning. While there is obvious and certain importance in capturing the whole family with all their new members, the significance and contrast between the two is worth noting and appreciating.

With grandkids from kindergarten to college, it was also wonderful to create a portrait with Jim and Janice surrounded by another generation, and we loved seeing all the cousins united under one place.

No matter where everyone headed back to in the following days, they were together for just a moment under the big Montana sky. We are so honored to be part of a moment like that.
